Julia is a board-certified registered acupuncturist  and has been immersed in the healing arts for the past 15 years. Julia offers a blend of hands-on techniques including acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, deep tissue massage, Shiatsu, Thai massage, Tuina, cupping, gua sha, and bleeding techniques.  She has a deep appreciation for the complexity of the human body, mind and spirit and recognizes that healing is an inherently creative and participatory process.  She brings her knowledge of Eastern medicine and a compassionate heart to all those she treats.

Julia has specialized in pain management and has extensive experience working with  musculoskeletal issues.  After graduating she studied with the late Grandmaster of acupuncture, Dr. Richard Tehfu Tan from whom she learned the Balance method which is rooted in a long lineage of ancient, authentic Chinese medicine teachings and texts such as the Nei Jing. The balance method works with both channels and meridians and is well known for achieving rapid results. It is one of the most effective and efficient acupuncture
methods for treating pain.

Her  innovative and integrated approach can help clients resolve a multitude of physical and emotional imbalances, support the cultivation of vitality, deepen their relationship with themselves, and ultimately embody their unique individual potential.

Julia’s training encompasses an undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, a one-year study of Shiatsu massage and three years at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC (2009).

Julia enjoys spending her free time exploring the island’s beaches and trails, connecting with the local dance community, participating in 8 shields nature reconnection wilderness programs, playing music, practicing Qi Gong, Kung Fu, and yoga, and teaching kids drama classes. She’s also a decade-long student of astrology (evolutionary and hellenistic).
